Established in 1987, Italy’s .IT country-specific top-level domain name extension is very popular both within the country and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for building imaginative and attractive domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to have an easy-to-memorize domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to go back to your website or to give it with colleagues and friends. The TLD can also be used for a website, which is linked to the information technology sector taking into account that IT is an abbreviation, which is used worldwide.

Since .IT domains are not offered directly by IT-NIC, the Registry that manages this TLD, such a domain can be purchased through a third-party domain service provider, such as ours. You can obtain a .IT domain for no more than one year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our firm and we will renew it the moment the transfer has been done. The sole prerequisite is that the person acquiring such a domain has to be located in a country from the EU.

Because there are existing Second-Level Domains that include names of various territories and localities in Italy reserved for local third-level registrations, new names that consist of geographical regions of any sort are not permitted on any level to avoid any future confusion.
